Support to make your postpartum experience sweeter.

Services

Nesting Session

One four-hour prenatal session to help organize and systematize postpartum and baby care in your home. The goal of this session is to prepare you and your family for baby’s arrival at home by setting up systems for the care of your baby (how to diaper, feed, bathe, clothe, and soothe), to stress less about who is doing what, where, and when, so you can relax into baby bonding time in a worry-free environment. This is open to grandparents, other family, or friends who will be helping care for you and baby.

Sibling Doula

On-call childcare coverage for older siblings during the birth of your new baby.

I can help the older child to understand the process of birth and what they can expect when the baby arrives home. In addition to ensuring the older child is fed, rested, and comfortable, I will facilitate communication between the child and parent(s) and engage in creative projects to form memories and positive associations with their new baby sibling. I will arrive to care for the sibling at your home or birthing location in no less than 2 hours of a phone-call request for support and will stay with the sibling until relieved by another approved helper or family member.

$200 non-refundable deposit + $45/hour for up to 24 hours

If this feels out of reach for you, please connect with me.

I provide sliding scale services to folks in need using the “green bottle” method, for those who may have trouble paying for a doula.

I am approved in DC to provide doula services to folks who are covered by DC Medicaid through most MCOs and/or referred by their care team in partnership with BirthingKind. My training satisfies Carrot’s eligibility criteria if you have benefits with them through your employer. Doula services may also be eligible for reimbursement from your private insurer with a letter of medical necessity from your provider.

I believe in the importance of doula services, especially in the postpartum period. I believe it’s my responsibility to provide those in my community with the support they need. We were not meant to raise children in isolation - we all need help and deserve to get it, regardless of our ability to pay for that help.
